Cleanroom Lifting System Installation
Cleanroom Lifting Systems supplied, installed and certified for Pharmaceutical and Medical Manufacturing Facilities, suitable for validated production areas.
Hoists
Hoists form the central lifting component within any cleanroom crane system and are selected based on both load requirements and environmental classification. Options include stainless steel chain hoists for hygienic handling applications, as well as synthetic lifting media such as Dyneema belt and rope hoists where low particle generation and smooth operation are critical. These solutions are commonly used for handling vessels, change parts and process equipment within pharmaceutical and regulated manufacturing facilities, and are specified to suit both the lifting duty and the controlled production area.
Overhead Cranes
Overhead Cleanroom Crane Systems allow heavy equipment and components to be positioned accurately anywhere within the working area without occupying valuable floor space. The lifting coverage can be designed to suit the layout of the room, enabling full access across the production area while keeping walkways and process zones clear. This approach is particularly useful in pharmaceutical and medical manufacturing facilities where safe maintenance access is required but floor obstruction must be avoided. Systems can also be configured to support routine maintenance tasks such as motor removal, pump handling and filter change outs within controlled environments.
Monorail Cranes
Monorail Crane Systems are well suited to applications where loads must be moved repeatedly along a fixed route within a controlled manufacturing area. The track layout can be designed to follow the process flow, including straight sections and curved paths, allowing equipment or components to travel safely between defined workstations. These systems are commonly used in pharmaceutical and medical device facilities for routine handling tasks such as transferring parts, tooling or process equipment while maintaining safe and consistent operation within the clean environment.
Jib Cranes
Jib Cranes provide a practical lifting solution where handling takes place within a specific workstation or maintenance area. Depending on the building structure, systems can be installed as wall-mounted jib cranes fixed to an existing column or structure, or as freestanding pillar jib cranes anchored to the floor. These are frequently used in pharmaceutical and regulated manufacturing facilities for localised lifting tasks such as equipment servicing, component handling and routine maintenance within controlled environments.
Gantry Cranes
Where a permanent crane structure is not suitable, or lifting is required in multiple areas, a Mobile Gantry Crane can provide a flexible handling solution. These systems can be relocated between rooms or work zones and are typically fitted with powered wheels or air castors to allow controlled movement across suitable floor surfaces. Mobile gantries are often used during maintenance activities, equipment change-outs or temporary projects within clean manufacturing environments where a fixed installation is not practical.
Tooling
Selecting appropriate lifting attachments is an important part of designing a cleanroom lifting system. In addition to the crane and hoist, the handling tooling must also be suitable for controlled environments and the specific application. Options may include lifting beams, big-bag handling frames, maintenance platforms, synthetic slings, manual stackers and stainless-steel lifting chain assemblies. Correctly specified tooling improves operator safety, protects equipment being handled and helps streamline maintenance and production support activities within regulated manufacturing areas.
Benefits of Cleanroom Lifting Systems
In controlled manufacturing areas, lifting activities must be carried out with a strong focus on safety, cleanliness and accurate handling. Appropriately selected lifting systems support these requirements while improving efficiency during maintenance and production support operations.
Fluid Process
A well designed lifting arrangement can help reduce handling time, minimise manual intervention and support more efficient production and maintenance activities.
ISO Compliant
Systems are selected and installed to support compliance with applicable safety regulations and facility classifications, while materials and finishes are chosen to minimise contamination risk within controlled environments.
Accurate
Raw materials, components and production equipment can be lifted and positioned with precise, controlled movement to allow accurate placement during maintenance and operational tasks.
Frequency Controlled
Hoist and travel motions can be configured with controlled speeds and smooth acceleration and deceleration to allow careful handling of sensitive equipment and processes.
Space Saving
The systems are designed to maximise overhead use of space, keeping floors and access routes clear while minimising obstruction within the working area.
Safety
Careful system design and appropriate equipment selection help reduce maintenance requirements and downtime, supporting a lower overall cost of ownership over the service life of the installation.
